Art on the Columbia was a vision made into a reality started by one woman, LaVonda Kellogg wanting to create a place for her artist friends to come and take classes from artists all over the world, also a place where local artists could teach, and buy the highest quality art supplies.
LaVonda was looking for the perfect building, one that could be a store, but also have adequate classroom space. She looked at many buildings around Kennewick but none really fulfilled what she was looking for. She was starting to feel a little panicked knowing she had the renowned artist Jean Haines coming from the UK and needed a place for her to teach.
When she finally found the perfect building, it needed a total reconstruction so she set to work building her dream.
